Welcome Back!!

Our Mission: To prepare each child for success!

August 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome back to a new school year! I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you.

We have the following new staff members to the Findley Family:  Mrs. Craig (3rd grade)   Mrs. Brown (Speech)

Open House  will be Tuesday, August 27th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

  • Final Homeroom assignments will be posted on door 1 (main door) and door 6 (playground door) on

August 23rd by 5:00pm.

First Day of School is Thursday, August 29th for students in Grades 1-5

Kindergarten students will be coming in by appointment on August 29th and 30th to complete a Kindergarten screening.  The first full day of school for Kindergarten will be Tuesday September 3, 2018.

  • Our school day is from 8:25 – 2:30.

  • The morning announcements will begin at 8:25.  The official tardy bell is at 8:30. If your child is not in their classroom by the 8:30 bell, he/she is considered tardy to school.

  • Breakfast and lunch are available to all students at no cost. Breakfast is served from 8:00-8:20am.

  • There is no morning supervision outside until 7:45am. Please do not drop off your children earlier since there will be no adults outside.

Over the summer, you were mailed an APS school packet.  This envelope contains very important information. Your child’s emergency card was a part of that packet, please follow the instructions (see back of letter) to update the information online at https://akronschools.com prior to Sept. 6th.  Please return any additional documents in the packet to school on the first day.   If any of the information changes on the emergency card throughout the school year, please call the school office to notify us of the change.

We invite you to call or email your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns.  We believe in open two-way communication to ensure success for your child.

It is important that any adult signing out a child during the school day shows a valid ID. For each child’s safety, no child may be signed out without the permission of the legal parent or guardian even if that person is listed as an emergency contact.

We look forward to seeing your child on the first day of school.  We are partners in your child’s education. Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you need anything!
